OS Getting Started for Users

Learn how to draft, scan, manage, and submit content for approval in Warrant OS.

Written by Austin Carroll

This guide covers everything you'll do day-to-day in Warrant:

  1. Studio: Have a conversation with the AI and get quick compliance scans on whatever you're working on

  2. Social: Generate and edit posts for different platforms, with compliance feedback before you publish

  3. Uploading: Add files and websites to your library

  4. Scanning: Check content against compliance rules

  5. Versions: Update content and track changes

  6. Approvals: Submit content for review

  7. Downloads: Export approved content

Warrant OS has two top-level modes, switchable from the top of the sidebar: Library (everything below, your documents, scans, approvals) and Social (covered in its own section next).

1. Studio

Studio is where you chat with Warrant's AI about your content and get real compliance scans back, not just a summary. It checks your content the same way a Library scan does, so the findings and score you get in Studio are the real thing, before you've created final assets or as a last check before sending for approval.

Catch problems early. Don't wait until the design is locked.

Open Studio

Click Studio in the left sidebar. You'll land on the Chat tab with a fresh New Conversation already started.

Use + New Chat to start another conversation, and + Add to Library once you're ready to save what you've got. The History tab lists your past conversations, so you can pick one back up later.

⏱️ Find past chats by navigating to “History” tab.

Get compliance feedback

  1. Type or paste your content in the reply box, or attach a file with the + button (there's a separate library icon next to it for pulling in an existing file from your library). You can also drag and drop a file straight into the chat window. To get a better review, add context on the channel, product, and geography to your request.

  2. Warrant checks your content the same way it does everywhere else in OS, and shows:

    • What's flagged: the specific text with issues

    • Why: which rule it violates

    • How to fix it: suggested alternative language

  3. Make changes, upload new versions, and ask for clarification, right there in the chat.

  4. When your draft is ready for formal review or to add to the company's file library, click Add to Library.

  5. Then, either Add to Folder or Create a New Project.

A screenshot of a computerAI-generated content may be incorrect.

Your content is now in the File Library where you can scan it, add new versions, and submit for approval.

2. Social

Social (formerly called Reach) is where you generate, edit, and schedule posts for your social platforms, with the same compliance checks as the rest of Warrant before anything goes out.

One place to write, check, and schedule your social content, instead of bouncing between a doc, a compliance reviewer, and your scheduling tool.

Switch to Social

Click Social at the top of the sidebar, next to Library, to switch modes. Your navigation, folders, search, notifications, approvals, and calendar all scope to Social while you're in it, switch back to Library any time to get to your regular files.

Create a post

  1. Start a new post and pick which platform you're writing for: X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, or TikTok. Each platform gets its own preview alongside your editor, styled to look like the real thing (a LinkedIn card, an X post, a TikTok phone frame, and so on), so you know what you're actually publishing.

  2. Write your copy directly, or click Generate to have the AI draft it for you across whichever platforms you've selected.

  3. Add media by dragging and dropping, or click Generate with AI in the add-media menu for an on-brand image. It reuses your post's copy as a starting prompt and checks the result against your brand guidelines automatically.

  4. Some platforms have their own extra fields, for example a title field for Reddit, or a hook, caption, and script for TikTok. Fill those in alongside your main post body.

Check compliance and submit

  1. Click Check compliance to run your post through the same compliance checks used for assets in the Library.

  2. Review any flags the same way you would for a file: what's flagged, why, and how to fix it.

  3. Once you're happy with it, click Submit for approval to send it into your company's approval workflow or post directly, based on your company's settings.

Schedule or publish

Once approved, open the post and choose Publish now or Schedule for a specific date and time. Scheduled posts show up on the Social calendar, where you can also reschedule anything that hasn't gone out yet.

3. Uploading Content

  6. View file.

⏱️ Best practice is to go to the file and update name, description, channel, audience, and geography. You can also add tags.

Bulk upload

  1. Click the Create New button from the top bar. Select Bulk Upload.

  2. Select multiple files (Ctrl+click or drag to select).

  3. Decide to upload to a folder or add to a project.

  4. Add a name and brief description to each file.

  5. Then click Upload.

Duplicate file check

Warrant automatically compares new uploads to past materials, so your library stays clean and you can track items across versions.

If your file has the same name as, or is very similar to, an existing file, Warrant will flag it during upload.

You have two choices:

  1. You can add the file as a new version. It will be part of the existing file as the new primary version.

  2. Or create a new file. These files will not be linked.

A screenshot of a computerAI-generated content may be incorrect.

4. Running Scans

Check your content against compliance rules before submitting for approval.

Know exactly what needs to be fixed and save your approver's time.

💡 Drafting in Microsoft Word? Warrant's Word add-in runs the same compliance scan right inside your document, so you don't have to switch tabs to check a draft before uploading it.

Open your file

Double-click any file in your library to open it in the File Viewer.

Start a scan

  1. Click the shield icon (Scan) in the right-hand rail. This opens New Scan Settings.

  2. Under Scan Context, Warrant shows tags it's already detected about your content, for example the channel it looks like this belongs to (Social Media, Web Banner) and the audiences it's likely reaching (Marketing Professionals, Compliance Officers, Business Owners). You don't need to fill these in yourself, Warrant reads the asset and suggests them.

  3. Click Customize Results to choose what to check

  4. Click Run Compliance Scan.

Review results

Once the scan finishes, the Scan panel shows:

  • Your compliance score out of 100, with a status badge (for example, "Needs attention"), and counts of how many findings are open versus dismissed

  • A breakdown by severity

  • A Checked summary listing what was actually evaluated and how many of each. Expand it to see the full list. This is useful for showing an approver (or a regulator) exactly what was reviewed, not just what got flagged

  • Rescan and History buttons, and All / Active / Dismissed tabs to filter your findings

Findings are grouped by category (Company Policy, Federal Trade Commission (FTC), FINRA, Disclosures, and so on). Click into a finding to see:

  • What's wrong and the suggested fix

  • Its severity (High, Medium, or Low)

  • Which specific policy or rule it's tied to, and a fuller explanation of why it matters

  • 👍 / 👎 to give feedback on the flag, a comment icon to discuss it, and Dismiss if you're accepting it as-is

Fix the issues, upload a new version, and scan again to confirm they're resolved.

5. Adding Versions

When you update content, add a new version instead of uploading a new file.

All your history stays connected. See what changed, when, and why.

When to add a version

  • You fixed compliance issues

  • You got feedback and made edits

  • Content was updated for a new campaign

  • An approver requested changes

💡 Always add versions to existing files instead of uploading new files. It keeps your history intact.

How to add a version

  1. Open the existing file in the File Viewer (double-click file).

  2. Click "+" from Versions on the lefthand sidebar.

  3. Select "Upload New Version" or "Link Existing File."

The new version becomes the Primary and the previous versions are saved. You can drag and drop to reorder the versions in the sidebar.

6. Getting Approvals

Submit content for review when it's ready to be used.

Clear audit trail. No more "did legal sign off on this?" questions.

Before you submit

  • Content is uploaded

  • Scan is complete

  • You've addressed the flags (or know why you're accepting them)

Chat

You can either choose to submit something formally for review or chat with existing users. Chats happen in the "Chat" tab and are linked at the version level.

  1. Add a comment by clicking the Comment button above the file view.

  2. Select where on the item you would like to add a comment. For videos, it will be added to a specific timestamp.

  3. Mention another user with "@" and they will get a notification.

  4. Resolve or reply to comments from the "Chat" tab.

Submit for approval

  1. Open your file (double-click). Ensure you have filled out all file details in the Info tab, including description, channels, products, geography, and due date.

  2. Click Submit for Approval from the pinned summary card at the top of the Info tab.

  3. Choose an approval workflow.

  4. Add notes for reviewers (Optional): what changed since the last version.

  5. Click Submit. Reviewers in the first stage will get notified immediately.

💡 Submitting a batch of files for the same review? Select multiple files first, then submit them for approval together instead of one at a time.

Track your submission

  • The Audit tab on the file (next to Scan) holds your approval history and activity log, who did what, and when, all in one place.

  • You'll get notified when there's a decision.

If changes are requested

  1. You'll get a notification with the feedback.

  2. Make the changes and upload a new version.

  3. Click Resubmit for approval on the Info tab (or Resubmit at the top of the file) to send it back for review.

7. Downloading Content

Export content when you need it.

Download one file

  1. Open the file (double-click)

  2. Click the Download button in the top right-hand corner.

Download multiple files

  1. Navigate to and select multiple files by holding down the SHIFT key.

  2. Click "Download" from the bottom hover bar.

Warrant creates a ZIP with all selected files.

💡 A downloaded file's details now include any comments and reviewer notes left on it, so the full context travels with the file, not just the asset itself.

Find your files quickly

  • My Uploads in the sidebar shows files you uploaded

  • Search finds files by name and content

  • Star folders to add them to Favorites on sidebar
