The File Viewer allows you to leave contextual comments directly on a document or image during review. Comments are anchored to a specific page and location, making feedback precise, traceable, and easy to act on.

How to Add a Comment

  1. Open the file in the File Viewer.

  2. Select the Chat tab in the right sidebar.

  3. Click Add Comment.

  4. Click on the exact page and area where you want to leave feedback.

  5. Enter your message in the comment box. You can mention teammates using @name.

  6. Click Post to add the comment.

A numbered marker will appear on the document indicating the comment’s exact location.

Comment Indicators on the Document

Each comment is represented by a numbered marker placed directly on the file:

  • Blue marker → Active comment

  • Gray marker → Resolved comment

These markers allow reviewers to quickly identify where feedback exists and whether it still requires attention.

Comment Details and History

Each comment thread includes key context to support review and accountability:

  • The page number where the comment was placed

  • The date the comment was added

  • The author of the comment

This information appears in the comment panel, creating a clear record of feedback over time.

Managing Comment Threads

Comments are organized as threads linked to their markers on the document. From each thread, you can:

  • Reply to continue the discussion

  • Edit or update your comment

  • Resolve the thread once addressed

  • Reopen resolved comments if needed

  • Show or hide resolved threads

Resolved comments remain available for reference and audit history.

Inline comments keep feedback connected to the exact part of the file that needs attention, reducing misunderstandings and eliminating the need for separate feedback channels.
