Set Your Compliance Scan Policies

How to set up your account to check for regulatory compliance.

Written by Austin Carroll

Choose which regulations and policies Warrant checks your content against.

1,500+ rules from federal regulators, state agencies, and platforms, you pick what applies to you.

How to Get There

  1. In the left sidebar, click Settings

  2. Under Compliance, click AI Policies

Selecting Regulations and Policies

Use the AI Policies page to define what Warrant checks for.

  1. Click Add Regulations to include relevant regulators or frameworks

  2. Once added, associated policies appear in the table

  3. Use search and filters to find specific rules

  4. Enable or disable policies as needed

💡 Don't enable everything, more rules mean more noise. Focus on what actually applies to your business.

Creating a Custom Policy

You can also create organization-specific policies.

  1. On the AI Policies page, click Create Policy

  2. Enter the required details:

    • Name

    • Type (e.g. Regulation, Company Policy, Disclosure, Trademark)

    • Severity

    • Description

  3. (Optional) Add guidance in When To Use or configure the AI Prompt (structured)

  4. Click Create Policy

Custom policies allow you to enforce internal rules and requirements alongside regulatory policies.

Import and Export Policies

To add many custom policies at once from a spreadsheet, or to export your policies, see Import and Export: AI Policies, Products, Disclosures and Libraries.

Setting Risk Levels

For each policy, assign a risk level:

  • High: critical violations that could mean fines or lawsuits

  • Medium: important rules you want to catch (recommended for most)

  • Low: nice-to-have checks, company-specific preferences

Risk levels tie into the auto-approval settings under Settings → Company → Approvals.
