The Products tab in the Brand Portal is your company's product catalog. It is the single place where you record each product's official name, the other names people use for it, its features and where it sits in your product hierarchy. Warrant uses the catalog when it scans content, so claims about your products are checked against what you have approved.
Where to find it
In the left sidebar, open Brand Portal.
Select Products.
The tabs at the top of the page also take you to Disclosures and Libraries, the other sections of the Brand Portal.
Find and filter products
Search by product name or level name in the search box.
Filter by Status, Types, Level or Parent Product. The list shows Enabled products by default. Pick Disabled or Archived in the Status filter to see the others.
Click Tree View to group sub-products under their parents.
Use Columns to show or hide columns such as Alt. Names, Features, Description and Effective Date.
Click a count in the Needs attention strip (Never checked by a scan or Flagged by a scan) to see only those products.
Add a product
Go to Brand Portal → Products.
Click Add Product.
Enter the Product Name (required). Optionally add:
Alternative Names: other names or abbreviations for the product, separated by commas. Wrap a name that contains a comma in double quotes, for example "Everyday Rewards, Plus".
Types: the product types it belongs to.
Parent Product: choose a parent to make this a sub-product.
Description and Effective Date.
Click Create Product.
Features are added from the product's detail page (see below).
Import and export products
Open the Download menu and choose Download template (XLSX) to get a blank template.
Fill in one row per product. Each row needs a Name. Alternative Names and Types accept several values separated by commas or semicolons. Parent Product is matched by name or ID. Features accepts "Name: Description" pairs separated by semicolons.
Click Import and choose your CSV or Excel file.
Under On duplicate (same name or ID), choose Update existing product in place or Skip: keep existing product unchanged, then click Continue to preview.
Check the preview and click the Import button, which shows how many rows will be imported.
Any new type names in your file are added to your company's list of product types. If a parent product can't be found, the row is imported without a parent and Warrant tells you which rows were affected.
To export the catalog, open the Download menu and choose Export all products (CSV), or select products and click Export.
For the template columns, export details and tips, see Import and Export: AI Policies, Products, Disclosures and Libraries.
Product hierarchy levels
Products can nest to any depth: a product, its sub-products, their sub-products, and so on. Each product's level is shown in the list and on its detail page. By default the levels are called Level 1, Level 2 and so on, but you can give them your own names, such as "Product Line" and "Product".
Click Settings in the left sidebar.
Under Company, open Fields & option lists.
Find Product hierarchy levels and type a name for each level. Click Add level for deeper levels. Leave a level blank to use the generic label.
To move a product to another level, change its parent product.
Custom product types
On the same Fields & option lists page, Custom product types lets admins add product types that are private to your company. They appear in your AI Policies and file metadata dropdowns. Type a name and click Add, or click the × on a type to remove it.
The product detail page
Click a product to open its detail page. It opens read-only for everyone. Admins click Edit in the header to make changes, which save automatically, then click Done.
Product details: name, types, alternative names, parent product, description and dates.
Features: the approved features of the product. Add each one with a name and an optional description.
Auto-Generated Compliance Policies: Warrant creates a Correct Product Name policy (flags unofficial names, misspellings or outdated names) and a Correct Product Features policy (flags feature claims that don't match the features list). New product policies start turned off. Use each policy's switch to turn it on, and Refresh to regenerate them after you change the product.
Sub-Products: click Create New to add a sub-product under this product, or Link Existing to move an existing product under it.
Attachments: supporting documents for the product.
File Usage: the files that mention this product. Files that use an alternative name are marked Outdated so you can update them.
Details: the product's ID, level, status, dates and counts. Admins can switch the product on or off here.
Versions and Activity: saved snapshots of the product and a log of changes. To save a snapshot, click Edit, open the ⋯ menu in the header and choose Save Version Snapshot.
Enable, disable or archive a product
On the detail page, click Edit and use the Status switch in the Details panel. Turning a product off also turns off its auto-generated policies.
To retire a product, click Edit, then Archive. Click Restore to bring it back.
In the list, select several products to enable, disable, archive or unarchive them together.
How products are used in scans
When you scan a file in the Library or work in Studio, Warrant checks the claims in your content against your product catalog. For example, if a flyer says a card has no annual fee and your catalog says otherwise, the scan returns a finding.
Which products are checked: content is checked against the products it is about. Tag the right products on a file to make sure it is checked against them.
Findings: product findings appear under Company Product, alongside your regulation, disclosure, policy, trademark and brand guideline findings.
Sub-products: a file tagged with a sub-product is also checked against policies and disclosures that apply to any of its parent products.
Archived products are not used. If you have no catalog, or the content isn't about any of your products, there are no product findings and the rest of the scan runs as normal.
Who can use it
Anyone who can view the Brand Portal can browse products and open their detail pages. Adding, importing, editing and archiving products is for admins and for users whose role includes Manage Brand Portal. Changing hierarchy level names and custom product types in Settings is admin-only.
