A brand in Warrant holds everything about one of your brands in one place: its name and description, its brand guideline documents, its logos, its color palette and its fonts. Warrant uses this information to check content against your brand and to style images it generates for social posts. This article is for admins and brand owners who set brands up.
Where to find it
In the left sidebar, open Brand Portal.
Select Brands.
If your company uses Social, the same brands also appear under Brand Portal in the Social sidebar.
Create a brand
Go to Brand Portal → Brands and click Add Brand.
Enter the Brand name. Each brand needs its own name.
Optionally fill in Brand description (what belongs to this brand), click Upload logo to add its main logo, and click Upload brand guidelines to attach its guide.
Click Create brand.
You can add everything else from the brand's page afterwards.
What a brand holds
Click a brand to open its page. It opens read-only. Click Edit to make changes, which save as you go, and click Done when you're finished.
Brand Name and Description
The brand's name, and a free-text Description of what the brand is: its audience, tone and visual identity. Brands don't have separate fields for tone of voice or imagery, so describe them here or in your guideline documents. Warrant takes the description into account when it checks content tagged with this brand.
Brand Guidelines & Files
The brand's guideline documents, such as a style guide, a voice and tone guide or an approved imagery deck.
Click Upload (or Upload Brand Guidelines once the brand has files). PDFs, Word documents, PowerPoint decks, text and Markdown files, and images are accepted.
Each upload is also added to your Library and opens in the File Viewer, where you manage its versions like any other file.
When Warrant has read a document, its card shows Used in AI scans. If it shows Extraction failed, upload the file again or in another format.
Use the icons on a file to Download it, Edit title & description, or Delete it.
Logos
Logos are grouped as Primary, Secondary and Icon. Click Upload next to a group to add a logo (PNG, JPG, SVG or WebP). You can upload as many variants as you need in each group. The newest Primary logo represents the brand across Warrant. Click a logo to view it larger, or hover and click the trash icon to remove it.
Colors
The brand's color palette, as hex values.
Optionally type a Name for the color.
Enter the Hex value, for example #1A9B6B.
Click Add Color.
Click a swatch to copy its hex value, or remove a color with its remove button.
Typography
The brand's approved fonts. Click Upload Font and choose a .woff, .woff2, .ttf or .otf file. Warrant uses the font's file name as its name, so name each file after the font, for example Inter-Regular.ttf. Fonts are upload only. Each font can be downloaded or removed.
Products and Disclosures
The products and disclosures assigned to this brand. You assign a brand on the item itself: in the Brands field when you add or edit a product, or the Brand field on a disclosure. AI Policies can be assigned to brands too. An item with no brand applies to all of your brands.
Details and Activity
The Details panel shows the brand's status, when it was created, and how many guideline files, logos, colors, fonts, products and disclosures it has. Admins also see an Activity log of changes to the brand.
To retire a brand, click Edit, then Archive. Click Restore to bring it back.
How Warrant uses your brands in scans
Brand checks are off until an admin turns them on:
Click Settings in the left sidebar, then under Compliance open Review settings.
In the Brand guidelines card, turn on Check content against brand guidelines and confirm with Turn on brand checking.
Once it is on:
Every compliance scan also reviews content against your brand guideline documents, and brand findings appear alongside your other findings.
Tag a file with a brand using the Brand field in its file details. A file tagged with a brand is checked against that brand's guidelines. A file with no brand is checked against all of your guideline documents.
For a file tagged with a brand, Warrant also checks the visual content against that brand's colors, fonts and logos, and flags off-palette colors, unapproved fonts and logo misuse. This works even if the brand has no guideline document yet.
Policies, disclosures and products assigned to a brand are checked on files tagged with that brand. Items with no brand are checked on every file.
Two more controls in Review settings:
Brand guidelines sensitivity: how strictly brand checks flag issues, separately from your compliance sensitivity. Choose Same as compliance sensitivity (default) or a level from 1 (Flexible) to 5 (Maximum). A higher level shows more findings.
Reach default guideline (shown once you have guideline documents): the guideline used when checking social posts. Leave it on Use company default or pick a specific guideline.
To leave brand guidelines out of a single scan, open Customize Results in the Scan panel and turn off Brand Guidelines under What to check.
How Warrant uses your brands in social images
When you generate an image for a social post, Warrant styles it with the post's brand:
It uses the brand's Colors as the main colors of the image. The brand is the one tagged on the post or, if your company has only one brand, that brand.
When brand checks are on, it follows the visual direction in your brand guideline (the Reach default guideline if you set one).
Generated images don't add logos or watermarks of their own.
If your company's brand voice and terminology have been set up, the Brands page in Social shows them in a Brand voice card (Voice & tone and Terminology), and they also guide generated posts and images. To change them, contact [email protected].
Import and export brands
On the Brands page, the Download menu has Export all brands (CSV) and Download template (XLSX), and Import adds brands from a spreadsheet with a Brand Name and Description column. Brands that already exist (matched by name) are skipped, never overwritten. Logos, colors, fonts and guidelines are added on each brand's page. See Import and Export: AI Policies, Products, Disclosures and Libraries.
Who can use it
Anyone who can view the Brand Portal can browse brands, their logos, colors, fonts and guideline files.
Creating, editing, importing and archiving brands and uploading files is for admins and users whose role includes Manage Brand Portal.
Turning on brand checks and changing Brand guidelines sensitivity and Reach default guideline is for admins.
