Social AI Policies and Social Settings

Review the policies applied to social posts, and set auto-approval, the brand guideline posts are checked against, and template categories.

Written by Austin Carroll

If your company has Social, two admin pages in Settings control how social posts are reviewed: Social AI policies, which shows the compliance policies that apply to social content, and Social settings, which sets when posts are auto-approved, which brand guideline they're checked against, and how your templates are grouped. This article goes through both in detail. For the overall setup, start with Getting Started with Social.

Where to find them

  1. Click Settings in the left sidebar.

  2. Scroll to the Social Reach heading, at the bottom of the settings menu.

  3. Select Social AI policies or Social settings.

The Social Reach heading only appears for admins, and only when your company has Social. You don't need a Social seat yourself to manage these pages.

Social AI policies

Social AI policies is your AI Policies table narrowed to the policies marked as applying to social media. It works just like AI Policies under Compliance, with the same search, filters and columns, so you can review your social rule set without wading through policies that only matter for print, email or TV. See AI Policies and Compliance Settings for how the table works.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • It's the same policy everywhere. These are not copies. If you turn a policy off with its Enabled switch here, it's off for all your content, not just social posts.

  • To keep a policy out of social scans only, use its Applies to Reach (Social) switch instead. When it's off, the policy is skipped when scanning social posts but still applies to everything else. For one of your own policies, open it and find the switch in the Lifecycle section. For a Warrant library regulation, click the pencil icon (Customize for your company) on its row and use the switch in the Customize Regulation panel. That change applies to your organization only.

  • To add one of your own policies to this page, open it and set Social Media Applicable to Yes: applies to social channels. Policies set to No: does not apply to social are left out of social scans.

Social settings

The Social settings page brings together the settings that only affect Social. Each one is the same company setting you'd find elsewhere in Settings, so you can change it from whichever page you're on.

Approvals: Auto-approval trigger

The Auto-approval trigger decides when a social post is approved automatically after its compliance scan, and when it needs a person to review it. Choose one of:

  • Inherit from assets (the default): posts follow the same rule you've set for assets under Settings → Company → Approvals.

  • High risk flags only: a post is auto-approved unless the scan finds a high-risk issue.

  • High & medium risk flags: a post is auto-approved unless the scan finds a high- or medium-risk issue.

  • Any risk flag: a post is auto-approved only if the scan finds no issues at all.

  • Auto-approve above a score: enter a Minimum score to auto-approve a post from 0 to 100. The score must clear the minimum you set for the post to be auto-approved.

  • All posts (manual): every post needs a person to review it.

How auto-approval behaves for posts:

  • Only a post's first submission can be auto-approved. A post that comes back after Changes Requested always goes to a person, so a reviewer's request is never overruled automatically.

  • A scan that didn't finish all of its checks never auto-approves a post.

  • Auto-approvals are recorded in the post's approval history, the same as a manual approval.

You'll find the same setting under Settings → Company → Approvals, in the Social posts (Reach) section.

Brand guidelines: Default guideline for posts

Choose which of your brand guidelines social posts are checked against:

  • Use the company default: posts are checked against your brand guidelines the same way as the rest of your content.

  • A specific guideline: posts are checked against that guideline only. Warrant also uses it to guide the AI images it creates for posts.

Brand guideline documents are uploaded and managed in the Brand Portal. Click Manage guidelines in the Brand Portal to go there. If you haven't added any yet, the page says so, and they become selectable here once you do. Brand checks only run when brand guidelines are turned on in Review settings.

Template categories

Categories are the sections of the Templates board in Social, shown in the order you set. Authors pick a category when they create a template.

  • Add: type a name in the box and press Enter or click Add.

  • Rename: click a category's name and type the new one. Templates in that category move with it.

  • Reorder: use the up and down arrows on a category.

  • Remove: click the ×. The number beside a category is how many templates use it. If it's in use, Warrant asks you to Move templates first: choose where those templates should go, then click Move and remove.

You can have up to 40 categories of up to 40 characters each, and you must keep at least one. If you've never changed the list, Warrant uses its defaults: Tip, Story, Question, How-to, Opinion and Case Study. The same list appears under Settings → Company → Fields & option lists as Reach template categories. For more on templates, see Social Templates.

Review settings

Social posts are scanned with the same AI review settings as everything else, such as review sensitivity and brand guideline checks. Click Open review settings to change them under Compliance.

Who can use them

Admins and Super Admins can see and change both pages when your company has Social. Members don't see the Social Reach admin pages. For a full breakdown of what each access level can do in Social, see User Roles in Reach.
