Answers to common questions about previewing social posts, controlling what your team posts, and keeping records of content once it is live. For the basics of Social, start with Getting Started with Social and the Social FAQ.
Does the preview show where a post gets cut off behind "see more"?
Yes. The live preview beside the editor shows the post the way that platform's feed lays it out, including where the text folds. Select the fold label to expand the full text, and Show less to fold it again.
LinkedIn: folds after about 210 characters, at …see more.
Facebook: folds after about 480 characters, at … See more.
Instagram: the caption folds after about 125 characters, at … more.
TikTok: the caption folds after about 100 characters.
YouTube: the description folds after about 150 characters.
X and Reddit do not fold the post in the preview.
When Warrant generates a post, it aims to keep the opening hook above the fold. Warrant does not show a separate warning when a disclosure falls below the fold, and there is no safe-zone overlay for video. If a disclosure needs to be visible without expanding the post, place it in the opening lines and check the preview before you submit. The Platform Guides list each platform's fold point and limits.
Can we approve social posts without connecting our social accounts to Warrant?
Yes. Connecting a channel is optional. Posts on unconnected channels are drafted, scanned and approved in Warrant like any other post. Once a post is approved:
Select Copy to copy the post text and download its media.
Post it yourself on the platform.
Back in Warrant, select Mark as published and paste the Live post URL (optional, but recommended).
The post's status becomes Published, it can no longer be edited, and the link appears on the post as View post. You can update the link later from the published banner. See Create a Post in Social.
How do we control what employees or advisors post?
Several settings work together:
Social seats. Only people with a Social seat can use Social. Admins turn seats on and off in Settings, then Members.
Require approval. Under Settings, then Approvals, approvals are on by default. While they are on, a post cannot be published or scheduled through Warrant until it is approved.
Approval flows. Admins decide who reviews, in what order, and whether one or all approvers must sign off. See Approving Social Posts.
Auto-approval trigger. In Social settings, choose All posts (manual) if every post must be reviewed by a person, or let clean posts through based on risk flags or a minimum score. See Social AI Policies and Social Settings.
Access levels and roles. Members can create, submit and publish their own approved posts. Admins manage settings and flows. If you enforce capability roles, you can narrow this further, and turn on Separation of duties (maker-checker) so a person can never approve an asset they submitted. See User Roles in Reach.
Deleting. Allow all members to delete (in Settings, then Roles) is off by default. Published posts cannot be deleted by members.
Visibility. Drafts are visible only to the author and admins. Submitted posts are visible to the author, admins and assigned approvers. Published posts are visible to everyone with a Social seat.
These controls apply to content that goes through Warrant. Warrant cannot stop someone from posting directly on a social platform outside Warrant.
Will Warrant tell us if a website or ad changes after it was approved?
Not automatically. Warrant does not monitor live web pages or ads, and it does not re-capture a URL on a schedule. A website capture is a snapshot of the page at the time it was added.
To check a page again:
Open the asset in the File Viewer.
Select + in the Versions sidebar, then Add URL / Link, and enter the page address. Warrant captures the current page as a new version.
Scan the new version and compare the results with the approved one.
Setting an Expiration date on the asset, with expiration rules in your approval settings, is a good way to make sure pages come back for review on a regular cycle. Learn more in Adding a New Version of a File, Compare Scan Results Across Versions, How to Add Dates to an Asset in Warrant and Create New Approval Flow.
Can Warrant pull in ads that are already running, such as LinkedIn sponsored or dark posts?
Not today. Warrant does not connect to ad accounts or ad managers, and it does not import posts or ads that were created outside Warrant. Connected social accounts are used to publish posts drafted in Warrant and to show stats for those posts.
To keep a record of a running ad:
Upload the ad creative, or a screenshot of the live ad, to your Library.
Capture the landing page with Create New, then Website URL.
For a post drafted and approved in Warrant, use Mark as published and add the Live post URL, so the approved version and the live link sit together.
Does Warrant pick up the links inside an uploaded asset and check those pages?
Not automatically. Any web address that appears as text in an asset is read along with the rest of the content and is checked against your policies. Warrant does not follow links, and it does not capture or scan the pages or disclosures they point to.
If a linked page matters for review, such as a terms page or a linked disclosure, capture it as its own asset with Create New, then Website URL, and scan it. Keeping it in the same folder or project as the asset makes the pair easy to find together.
