Warrant can draft a social post for you from a topic, a web page or a file. You pick the platform, give it a starting point and, if you like, fine tune the style. The draft is written for that platform, in your voice, and with your company's brand rules and social compliance policies in mind. Anyone with a Social seat can generate posts. For the full journey from draft to published post, see Create a Post in Social.
Open the Generate post dialog
In Social, select Create New, then Generate Post.
In a draft you already have open, select Generate in the bottom action row.
On the Templates page, select a template and then Use template. The dialog opens with the template's prompt already filled in.
If you paste a link into a draft, Warrant asks Generate a post from this link? Select Generate to open the dialog with that link on the From URL tab.
Generating replaces the post's current body.
Generate a post
Pick the platform. Select one of the platform icons: LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit or YouTube. This step is required, and nothing is selected for you. The line underneath confirms your choice, for example "Writing for LinkedIn."
Choose a source on one of the three tabs (see below).
Optionally, turn on Branded image to have an image created with the post. See Generate Images for Social Posts.
Optionally, open Advanced options to adjust the style.
Select Generate.
The dialog closes and the editor shows that your post is being written. You can close the window or leave the page. Generation carries on, the draft fills in when it's ready, and you see Your post is ready. If you've left, you'll also find a notification under Notifications in the Social sidebar that links straight to the post.
Each post is written for one platform. Once a post has been generated, it stays on that platform. To post the same idea somewhere else, create a new post and generate it for the other platform.
Choose a source
Topic
Describe the post in your own words under What is this post about?, for example "Our Q2 product launch and what it means for compliance teams".
From URL
Paste the page into Article or page URL. Warrant reads the page and writes about it.
Use Angle or focus (optional) to steer the post, for example "Focus on what this means for RIAs".
Include source link in the post is off by default, which saves the link to the post's Info only. Turn it on to add the link to the post as well, in the first comment on platforms that have one. X posts never include links, so the switch is unavailable for X and the link is saved to Info.
From file
Drag a file onto the drop zone, click it to browse, or select Select from Library and then Use this file. The post is generated from one file.
Use Angle or focus (optional) to steer the post, for example "Pull out the key stat for prospects".
Images and videos you generate from are attached to the post. Files you upload here are also added to your Library.
Warrant processes the file first. A video or audio file can take a few minutes, but you can select Generate straight away and the post is written as soon as processing finishes. If a file can't be processed, select Try again or pick a different file.
Advanced options
Select Advanced options to open these controls. They reset to their defaults each time you open the dialog.
Option | Choices | Default |
Tone / energy | Thoughtful, Urgent, Provocative, Inspirational, Analytical | Thoughtful |
Expression style | First person (I), Company voice (We) | First person (I) |
Post length | Short, Medium, Long | Short |
Spiciness | Mild, Medium, Hot | Medium |
Include emojis | On or off | Off |
Include hashtags | On or off | Off |
Post type | Standard, Announcement, How-to, Opinion, Story, List, Question | Standard |
Target audience | Free text, for example "Compliance officers at RIAs" | Blank |
Goal / call to action | Free text, for example "Drive sign-ups for the webinar" | Blank |
Custom instructions | Anything else the writer should know or avoid | Blank |
Generate first comment | On or off | Off |
Spiciness sets how direct the post is. Mild is measured and uncontroversial, Medium has a point of view rather than just observations, and Hot takes a real position that people might argue with.
Post length aims for under 600 characters (Short), around 1,000 (Medium) or up to 2,000 (Long), never more than the platform allows. For X, the dialog reminds you that posts are capped at 280 characters.
Generate first comment writes a follow-up comment to post under your post, which is where links belong. It applies on platforms that support a first comment, which today are LinkedIn and YouTube.
What shapes the draft
Besides the options you choose, every draft draws on:
The platform guide. Length, structure, hooks and formatting follow the rules for the platform you picked. These are the same rules shown in Platform Guides.
Your voice. If you've set up My Voice, the post is written the way you write. If not, Warrant uses your company's voice and brand settings. After generating without a voice of your own, the editor invites you to set one up.
Your company's brand rules: its brand voice, preferred terminology, and approved and prohibited language.
Your social compliance rules. The draft is written with the policies that apply to social posts in mind, and includes required social disclosures where they fit.
Generation gets a post closer to approvable, but it does not replace the compliance check. Always run Check compliance before you submit.
What you get
The post body, opening with a hook, in the editor with a live preview beside it.
A title on Reddit and YouTube, which require one.
On TikTok, a caption plus separate On video text and Spoken script fields. On YouTube, a description plus a Spoken script.
A first comment, if you asked for one and the platform supports it.
If the post was still untitled, it is named after its topic.
Refine the draft
Edit the text directly. The post saves as you work.
Select Improve in the editor toolbar and choose Shorten, Longer, My Voice (rewrites the draft in your voice, keeping its meaning and facts) or Proofread (fixes spelling, grammar and punctuation only).
To start over, select Generate again. The new draft replaces the current body.
Next steps
Add an image or video with Add media.
Select Check compliance to scan the draft against the policies and disclosures scoped to social, and fix anything it flags.
Select Submit for approval.
See Create a Post in Social for approval and publishing.
